Our journey began in New York, where two chefs from different corners of the world crossed
paths.
Ashish, originally from Mumbai, came to the U.S. with a hotel management
degree and a suitcase
full of spice and ambition. After honing his skills in some of New York’s busiest kitchens,
he knew it
was time to bring his own vision to the table.
Mahendra, born and raised in Nepal, trained in the culinary arts back home
and built his reputation
across New York’s vibrant restaurant scene. When we met, it didn’t take long to realize we
shared
the same dream: to create food that felt like home—and tasted unforgettable.
After years of planning (and a lot of late-night recipe testing), Nakshatra
was born. From classic
curries to sizzling street-style noodles, every dish on our menu is a celebration of
heritage, flavor,
and friendship.
