Born from a shared dream and years of kitchen hustle, Nakshatra brings you bold, authentic flavors of Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine—crafted with soul, skill, and serious passion.

Our journey began in New York, where two chefs from different corners of the world crossed paths. Ashish, originally from Mumbai, came to the U.S. with a hotel management degree and a suitcase full of spice and ambition. After honing his skills in some of New York’s busiest kitchens, he knew it was time to bring his own vision to the table.

Mahendra, born and raised in Nepal, trained in the culinary arts back home and built his reputation across New York’s vibrant restaurant scene. When we met, it didn’t take long to realize we shared the same dream: to create food that felt like home—and tasted unforgettable.

After years of planning (and a lot of late-night recipe testing), Nakshatra was born. From classic curries to sizzling street-style noodles, every dish on our menu is a celebration of heritage, flavor, and friendship.

We may be a ghost kitchen, but we cook with real heart—and we can’t wait to share our story with you, one bite at a time.
